Guns, Guns & Mo' Guns

2018 opens with a new blog, mine. I'll try not to blatantly STEAL other blogs' content, but at least TRY to camouflage it, so you don't feel like you're reading the same thing over and over.

2018 also brings a bevy of new guns being announced, days ahead of the Shot Show in Las Vegas. Ruger lead the way with their announcements of the new Security Nine, which looks an awful lot like the SR9 of the recent past. They did add the single action type hammer of the LCPII.

A week after Ruger dropped the wholesale price of the LC9S, they announced the EC9S, a "budget" version of that small concealed carry nine. Main difference between the two guns being the fixed sights on the budget line. Also announced were new models of the SR1911's, and several new colors of LCP's, LCPII's and Mark IV's.

New Ruger rifles include several new variations of older guns, but the big New Ruger Rifle would be the new Pistol Caliber Carbine. Starting with a 9mm, the PC Carbine breaks down very similar to the 10/22. I'm wondering if the new version of the PC Carbine will include the .44 Magnum, a favorite of local bear hunters.

Not to be out done, Glock brings out the new kids, first, the Model 19X, a hybrid between the 19 slide topping the 17 slide. Sounds very interesting, however the same effect can be achieved by using a 17 magazine with the X-grip magazine adapter. I've already read several comments questioning whether the opposite hybrid would have been a better deal, marrying the 17 slide with the 19 grip (a la P320 Carry)

Also announced were the next models of the Gen 5 series, the 26 and the 34, rounding out the Glock 9 millimeters, (not including the 17L)
